Barack and Michelle Obama are using their new roles as movie and TV producers to open up a new front on their arch-nemesis, buying the rights to a best-selling author's portrayal of the chaotic, early days of the Trump transition and administration.
The former president and First Lady have acquired the rights to Michael Lewis' book The Fifth Risk under a multimillion-dollar Netflix deal they clinched earlier this year that will see them producing films and series for the streaming service
Lewis has authored several books which have subsequently turned into successful movies, including Moneyball, the Blind Side and The Big Short.
The journalist's new book lays bare the apparent chaos and mismanagement at the Departments of Energy, Agriculture and Commerce during the transition from Obama to President Trump’s administration.
The possible series based on Lewis’ book isn’t yet a done deal, but it’s a project the former president and his wife is considering. Lewis revealed the news about the Obamas and his book in a podcast with Katie Couric on Thursday, Deadline reported.
The possible series is “a civics lesson … I did three departments because it would be the work of many lifetimes to do the whole government, but you could do this in a fun way across the entire government,” he reportedly told Couric.

There is something truly vulgar about this. An ex POTUS buys the rights to a descredited book that trashes his replacement for the purpose of making a show from its contents. These people are trash.
And yet, Trump is still winning- and Obama is still clueless.

Acquired the right? I don’t think so. This Is a sort of puff piece being given to Obama and the Democrats.
Should Trump decide to write his own book the ensuing court case of Obama vs Trump. Obama vs Anybody would even fail if Obama tried to push the notion of exclusivity.
Are they going to include the chaos that erupted within their cabal, when their attempts to interfere with a Presidential election, and take down a sitting President were discovered? I don't recall the incoming Trump administration having an emergency meeting two weeks before the inauguration to get their stories straight, or Trump's National Security Advisor, General Flynn, sending himself an email to establish an alibi just minutes after Trump was inaugurated.
We dropped Netflix like a hot potato....Bullshitting ex prez and his boy friend wife, being on the payroll cinched the decision, for us, immediately!
