TALLAHASSEE — More than 2 million Florida voters have cast ballots and Republicans maintain a solid advantage over Democrats in turnout.
The blue wave remains mostly a mirage. More Republicans are "bringing it home" so far, in the words of Democratic candidate for governor Andrew Gillum.
Typically, the GOP has led from the start in mail ballots, and it edged ahead of the Democrats in early voting Thursday for the first time as several more GOP counties began early voting
, according to county-by-county totals on the state Division of Elections web site.
As of Friday, 2,037,610 ballots had been counted.
Of that total, 43 percent were cast by Republicans (869,649) and 40 percent by Democrats (808,200). That's a successful formula for Republicans in Florida, a deep purple state with a long history of tight elections and sluggish Democratic turnouts in midterms.

I cannot understand how the Democrats can think they will have a blue wave when black voters are showing an improved opinion of Donald Trump and a ‘turn-away’ trend is growing.
Also, I think this article is old, I read somewhere that republicans are 100K ahead in Florida presently.
But are they factoring in the loads of ballots that will be “found” in the trunks of cars after the polls close ?

I was watching Fox News the other day (I live in Spain so my only choices are FNC and CNN International) and they had a pollster on who was discussing Florida’s early voting and he said that it was normal for the GOP to have more early voters but the Dems make up for it with a larger turnout on the actual election day. He considered it to be normal.
