So how many years ago was that Indian in her genealogy?

Maybe she can get back benefits to that time.

6-10 Generations at 40 years each = 240 to 400 years.

1618 to 1778???

If we weren’t a country yet, she should be paying us benefits.

20 to 25 years per generation. The problem however is not how long ago, it was the methodology used to assign the probability. That methodology included DNA from South Americans in the analysis.
