Murkowski Sides With Flake on Delaying Kavanaugh Vote for FBI Investigation
Townhall.com ^ | September 28, 2018 | Lauretta Brown

Sen. Lisa Murkwoski (R-AK) told reporters Friday that she agrees with fellow moderate Republican Sen. Jeff Flake (AZ) in his call for an FBI investigation that would delay the Senate floor vote on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination for up to one week.

Murkowski believes there should be an investigation that is “limited in time and scope.”

Murkowski to @ckmarie:
“do you support Senator Flake’s call for a delay and an FBI investigation?”
Murkowski: "yes I do. It has to be limited in time and scope.”— Phil Mattingly (@Phil_Mattingly) September 28, 2018

During the Senate Judiciary Committee vote to move Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination to the full Senate, Sen. Flake insisted that he did not think they should have a full vote on Kavanaugh until there has been a week-long FBI investigation into sexual misconduct allegations against Kavanaugh.

The committee did vote 11-10 to confirm Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

As a moderate Republican, Sen. Murkowski was a key vote in the confirmation process.

Kavanaugh's confirmation will be determined by her and other key moderate senators such as Sens. Susan Collins (R-ME) and Jeff Flake.

Judge Kavanaugh and Dr. Christine Blasey Ford both gave emotional testimonies Thursday on allegations that he groped her and pinned her down while he was drunk at a party in high school.

Kavanaugh fully denies her allegations and the witnesses she initially claimed were present have denied that such an event occurred.

Laws should be passed to force allegations to be made timely so an investigation can be made.

McConnell could have scheduled a vote on the matter without having any input from the Judiciary Committee at all.

Your comment makes my point.

There is no need for Flake to "trick" the Democrats. He could simply be the 50th or 51st vote on the Senate floor.

Murkowski and Flake know they have us by a certain part of the anatomy. These appropriate named “flakes” are worse than the demonrats. At least you know the democrats will always choose the most evil outcome. Flake, etc. sell their soul to the highest bidder.

Sessions did and probably about 30 others.

The Democrats want another FBI investigation because Wray is most likely working with them to delay the confirmation beyond the Mid-Terms. That is why Every Democrat was asking for it to go to the Corrupt FBI.

Right -- but the GOP would have looked worse politically if the nomination wasn't advanced out of the committee properly.

The GOP has been playing this perfectly with regards to the process -- which is what I've been saying for two weeks now.

Not true, more power is better than less power and very few surrender it. You are confusing stupidity with complicity.

This won’t stop Trump from doing what he wants.

I am half tempted to move to Alaska just to vote against this predator faced wench.

I can see Collins being the way she is since she’s from Maine. I don’t like her, but I *get* why she is the way she is.

This frigging swamp creature has no excuse. None. She is clearly angling for cash.

If the GOP doesn’t cut this ingrate loose after the midterms, they’re going to continue to hang themselves. Nothing will change. They could have a reliable, solid conservative vote from Alaska ... not one that needs paid when her vote is critical.

“And that is why 52-48 is better than 51-49. I don’t live in Alabama but the Roy Moore thing cost the Republicans.”

I think everyone is aware of that now.

Ah, but it won’t end there. A Democrat has already hinted about other allegations. The Dems either have somebody in the wings and are rehearsing her accusations, or they are looking somebody willing to take a bribe.

If there must be an FBI investigation, might as well go for the jugular.

To start, I want Ford, the pro-bono’s, the polygrapher, all to give statements under oath.

They already have contradictory statements from Ford, let’s follow up on those first. If she’s hit with false statements, lets see if the Dems continue to like this investigation.

If the Dems don't show up for a committee vote, and if they force the Republicans to change the rules, it is the Dems who would look bad.

I don't believe Flake is on our side and doing us any favors.

So Jeff Flake who is paying you off?
How much are they offering you??
How far do you have to take this to collect??
What do they have on you??

It should have never taken place but once in motion these things take a long time especially when the Demons dig in their heels and have to be dragged towards decency.

We are freaking out a bit because of fears that the liberals are going to pull the same bullcrap again.

That's not it ... its the Dem insistence that the FBI do an investigation in which they have no federal crime. Lest we forget this is the same FBI that concluded (even though they don't draw conclusions) that Hillary should not be prosecuted.

Demanding the FBI do this is very suspicious.

I predict they will find him ...
