Yes, because:
This is NOT about “breaking” Ford
This is NOT about determining what is the Truth & what is a lie (although folks may see what they believe are lies)
This is NOT about changing anyone’s minds ... the Dems are a “no” vote regardless of the outcome of the hearings - even if Ford was proved to lie about every single one of her accusations. Kavanaugh is a Trump/Republican nominee which is an automatic “NO” vote from Dems and nothing is going to change that.
This IS about giving Ford a committee hearing so Repub Senators who require this before they can be convinced to vote for Kavanaugh can be thrown a bone.
This IS about getting through the hearing without photo ops (i.e. ‘ammunition’ for the Left) of old, white, Republican men making Ford uncomfortable, upset, cry, and on and on. As much as I hate it, “optics” are important.
This IS ridiculous. For any future nominations, the Republicans need to go nuclear and not have hearings - they ARE NOT a requirement. If the Repubs haven’t figured it out by now, this is take-no-prisoners WAR declared by the Democr@ps and they had better get themselves on a war footing pronto, confirm Kavanaugh & break out their brass knuckles for use every time the Dems pull stunts like this, or, as Scott Adams said (language warning) the Republcans are “f—king dead”.

That is the best idea I’ve heard to prevent this absurd circus in the future. The Dems have shown they cannot play nice.
DiFi didn’t even go to the closed hearing for Kavanaugh or participate in the Sept 25 very long phone interview with him.
