The purpose was to box Ford into a specific denial that this other guy was the attacker.
I expect he’s the man who testified to the Senate and his friend was one of those named as a witness and backed him up.
This will clear Kavanaugh if true and Ford has lied publicly about the event even when informed of the truth. ‘
