As predicted, Russia’s S-300 shipments to Syria aimed directly at Israel
Great Power War ^ | 6/24/18 | USA Features

The Syrian government first began receiving S-200 systems around 1983. By the time the civil war began, the Syrian army still operated several S-200 sites, but on at least one occasion, rebels overran one site that contained a fire control radar in disrepair. Beginning in 2015 after Russia joined the war on the side of Syria, efforts were made to rehabilitate these systems. In November 2016, Defense Minister Shoigu announced that Syria’s S-200s had been restored.

Thoughout 2017 several were fired at Israeli aircraft, and while the Syrians claimed to have downed an Israeli fighter and a drone at one point, the Israel Defense Force denounced the claim as “total lies.” But in February of this year, Syrian air defense forces did manage to down an IDF F-16I Sufa with an S-200 missile.

The S-300 (NATO designate SA-10 Grumble, SA-12 Giant/Gladiator, SA-20 Gargoyle) is a Soviet-turned-Russian design that is a substantial upgrade from the S-200. It was first deployed in 1979 to protect vital industrial infrastructure and has undergone many upgrades since. One of the upgrades includes the system’s ability to better distinguish targets at greater distances. It’s assumed that the systems Russia will supply are in top functioning condition.

Hasn’t Israel been attacking targets within Syria? It might be to their benefit, but not ours. Syria defends Christians and other minorities and it fights ISIS.

The USA seems to act as an unquestioning mercenary for two countries - Saudi Arabia and Israel.

yup. Neither one of which has the interests of Christians and other minorities as a priority. Both of which are countries which were invented by Euro/globalist intervention.

I think it’s great that Syria will now have even more accurate S-300 missiles to target Russian aircraft with.

Go Syria...

LOL

Every day I see Putin doing the Left hand vs Right hand moves against Israel.

Now that he has began Electronic War against Israel I hope that they finally stand up to the Russian bear before they get eaten.

All this while it's like Putin was playing chess with them and by sacrificing the Pawn of the Russian aircraft, he now can move in his heavy hitters with the S-300 and other stuff. And make no mistake about this jamming, it not only affects Israel but American intrest in the region as well.

This threat of Electronic & GPS jamming must be stopped at all costs!

We can thank Hillary, John, Lendsey, and Barrack for our involvement there. I don’t think any of those folks are die-hard backers of Israel. As for Saudia Arabia, it isn’t clear to me how our involvement prevents Syria from invading it.

The problem is, Democrats and those who lean in their direction, have absolutely no grasp of foreign policy, global or regional dynamics.

The opposition in Eastern Syria became pronounced during the time frame of the Arab Spring. We screwed up in Libya and Egypt, and remained on stupid to join the fray in Syria.

Several gas attacks later, no matter who instigated them, and here we are. What a mess.

If folks want to back out of a nation, Syria would be the one.

Let they Syrians decide their own fate.

In practical terms, Assad wasn’t a menace to his people.

I do think his allowing of Iranian munitions to Hezbollah was extremely problematic. Believe me when I tell you, that WAS NOT a determining factor in our involvement, as pushed by those idiots listed above.

DAESH was their and their god the Fraud’s code buzzword for ISIS that also proclaimed their intolerance for Israel’s existence.

Those missile systems have been compromised by Israel 20 years ago. As long as S-400’s aren’t being actively deployed, the IAF will continue to operate freely. Plus, both Russia and Syria know that Israel isn’t attacking Syria for regime change. They are attacking Syria to ensure Iran doesn’t gain a foothold.

It’s hard to argue against that, knowing what sprang up on steroids as soon as we armed and funded the players in Eastern Syria. Oh yes, I know it was only the ‘good al Qaeda’.

It was ISIS. These people were the masters of chaos. Well, no, they were the foot soldiers of the masters of chaos.

It is possibly a correct report but I really doubt it. Putin knows better than this., as Jerusalem will just have to knock such missiles out anyway. Meanwhile, is USA still arming the hezbellah murder gangsters and the Isis- type terrorists..? Or has PDJT managed to stop all that obama Krap? It would I think require his gaining normal proper control of cia, etc. The current news reports indicate that the Deep State is still entrenched and running most of the show? I hope PDJT and/ or local people can eliminate hezbellah and Isis and the dangerous Iranian regime soon —Assad was very dangerous ( in a quieter , sneakier way) but not as bad as the islamonazi gangsters obama tried to have take over. Israel needs to take that 100 mile buffer and they csn also Help the usaf eliminate hezbellah since hezbellah threatens Jerusalem as well as effectively ruling Lebanon and a big part of Syria. It can be mostly achieved in just a few days’ serious work. One thing I’d love to see is us stop arming and supporting Saudi - a dictatorial monarchy that has always worked against America, 9/11 was just a single visible moment of the larger Saudi threat imho. The new prince? We will see.

No kidding. Saudi money reaches deep into the American government as does the Israeli lobby. The Saudis and Israelis are practically allies now, at least their governments are.
