It is also disturbing because this just feeds into Trump's "narrative" about the "Deep State" working to undermine him. "Feeds into the narrative" = "provides evidence" in plain English.

Thanks, KarlinOhio. Brinkley is dismayed because it actually is evidence that Donald Trump is correct - nothing to do with feeding into Trump’s narrative at all. It is a fact.
