Authorities give update on capture of Shawn Christy
MANSFIELD, Ohio – Authorities captured the man accused of making threats against President Donald Trump on Friday, according to WJW.
The U.S. Marshals had been searching for 26-year-old Shawn Christy, of McAdoo, Pennsylvania, in Northeast Ohio since Sunday. That's when Christy crashed a stolen car on Interstate 71 in Mansfield then took off running.
During a press conference, authorities said they zeroed in on a location Friday where they thought he might be hiding near Crider Road.
A K-9 picked up on his scent and "took him down." He was taken into custody at about 4:30 p.m Friday after he eventually surrendered.
Authorities said Christy had a firearm on him. He will face further charges on that.
He was taken to the Richland County Jail

I’d say law enforcement didn’t want to be shown up by Dog.
I’ll bet they’ve had an eye on this guy for a long time, but didn’t arrest him for some unknown reason.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The U.S. Marshals Service said a Pennsylvania man accused of threatening President Donald Trump and law enforcement officials has been arrested in Ohio.
They say Shawn Richard Christy was arrested around 4:40 p.m. Friday by marshals and task force members from Ohio and Pennsylvania.
The U.S. Marshals Service said the search that led to his capture started around 1 p.m. Friday.
A K9 picked up his scent and was able to track him to a ravine area near I-71 and SR-30 and north of Crider Road, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
The U.S. Marshals Service said Christy was found with a pistol and a large knife.
He will be held in local custody until he goes to federal court on Monday.
A federal warrant was issued June 19 for the 27-year-old McAdoo man in connection to Facebook posts threatening to shoot Trump and a district attorney in Pennsylvania. Officials say he also threatened a police chief.
Pennsylvania warrants issued for Christy allege burglary, probation violation and failure to appear for an aggravated assault case.
Authorities say Christy stole a truck Sunday from the area of McAdoo, Pennsylvania, and fled after abandoning it Sunday on Interstate 71 in the Mansfield area, about 65 miles north of Columbus
Dog the Bounty Hunter was scheduled to help in the search next week. He was not on the scene when Christy was captured.

Dog wasn’t there but said he had received a tip on the mans location and may have passed it on.
