I don’t see the problem. We elected Trump to do this. And the hype here on SS is BS. Trump has stated repeatedly the he is going to not negatively touch SS. Stop running away from what Trump promised to do, it got him elected. And he’s doing it.
I literally just heard Trump in a couple recent speeches say he wasn’t going to do that. I’m not opposed if it’s done in a way that it improves the programs, but for God’s sake, don’t say that before a midterm.
Trump can correct this, though, pretty easily.

Lou Dobbs and Ed Rollins were over-the-moon pissed at Kudlow for what he said. Rollins said we could lose 7 or 8 seats (IIRC) because of it.
SS and Medicare were off the table for Trump during the campaign. He was the only Republican that wasn’t going to touch them. So i seriously doubt he will do it now, while other campaign promises go undone.
