The problem is things HAVE happened in some of their cities though not as huge as on 9/11. Yet they still make excuses rather than deal with reality.

Glad your extra effort helped out. Sounds like there was enough trouble to deal with today. Now to hope the upload is there and behaves in the morning!

Soldiers from A Company, 3rd Infantry (The Old Guard), fold the giant garrison flag that draped the side of the Pentagon beside the impact site where terrorists crashed a hijacked airliner Sept. 11, 2001. The soldiers lowered and folded the flag ceremonially Oct. 11 for presentation to Army leadership. It will never be flown again. Photo by Jim Garamone

Excitement level=high! Can hardly wait to see them! I do have a coat with the stuff to pack. And sweats to sleep in. And sox. :)

I’ll bet you will be a great guide. People will see how much you love and respect the troops that are represented there by their equipment!

Thanks for the story...you are right. Too foolish to leave the camp. People knew where they were dropped off.

I figured the level would be through the roof by now. LOL! You’ve been waiting a long time for this trip.

Sweats to sleep in? They do have heat in WY. :-)

I don’t know about great but I’ll do the best I can. The real fun will be the vets who bring up little facts about some of the things on display because they worked with them when they were in the service. The other guides have said that happens a lot and they enjoy learning a little more from them.

Yeah, theoretically WY has heat. My son, on the other hand, keeps it turned down to just above freezing. Just kidding but not by much. LOL! I nearly always sleep in sweats when I visit him, especially before June and after August. I learn stuff quick. ;)

I’ll bet talking to the vets and listening to their stories is the best part of the tour. They are the ones that actually USED those things! Very cool!

Guess I’d better go. It’s WAY later than I thought. I was watching a show and forgot to watch the clock. See ya tomorow! I have Peaches tonight, unless he goes out while I’m brushing my teeth, so that means lots of head butts to wake me up. Sweet ol’ thang! =^..^=

At least you know ahead of time what to expect and can pack accordingly. Maybe it won’t be too cold every night while you’re up there. The daytime highs sound awesome.

I do look forward to hearing what the vets have to say.
I usually greet everyone when they first arrive and again as they’re heading out and enjoy hearing the vets’ reactions to the place. Getting to spend time with them while they’re there is going to be a bonus.

I still thank my lucky stars that this opportunity fell in my lap. It’s a wonderful experience.

I’m shocked you were up so late tonight! I hope Peaches did go out so you can get some sleep. You’ll be dragging all day otherwise. :-)

Good morning Everyone

This will be a drive-by post as I have an early morning dental appointment; however,
I could not let this day go by without stopping to say
THANK YOU
to all of our Service HEROES!

Remember those who gave all!

many “moments of history”

Just a matter of being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Many people have “been there and done that” but not by choice. God Bless America

Had the honor of being the narrator this morning for the Fort Knox 9/11 remembrance ceremony.

To show you just how this attack touches so many lives...the Ft. Knox Commanding Genera....a Two Star Flag officer was visibly choking up as he read the bios of a handful of the heroes that died that day saving lives.

I remember on 9/11 leaving my wifes’s house (we were just dating at the time) and looking towards downtown about 11pm on 9/11and for the first time in my life seeing the whole of the Midland skyline shrouded in darkness. That’s when the reality and the gravity of the situation we were facing that day really began to set in with me. I didn’t sleep a wink that night...I just kept replaying what had transpired that day over and over in my head.
