Gov. Jerry Brown signs law that aims to get all CA electricity from clean sources
ABC7 ^ | Sept. 10, 2018 | AP

Brown, who has positioned California as a global leader in the effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, approved the measure as he prepares to host a summit in San Francisco of climate change leaders from around the world later this week.

The renewable energy measure would require California's utilities to generate 60 percent of their energy come from wind, solar and other specific renewable sources by 2030. That's 10 percent higher than the current mandate.

The goal would then be to use only carbon-free sources to generate electricity by 2045. It's merely a goal, with no mandate or penalty for falling short.

Good. They can stop buying electricity from Washington state generated by the non-clean energy from hydro.

Maybe our electrical rates will go down when California stops creating demand.

insanity

Meanie. Brown was named Moonbeam in the early 1970s because he could go outside in the night air and close his eyes and feel vibrations and emanations from the Moon based aliens who solved his problems.

He now thinks Moonbeams will light the cities of California and we won’t need all those nasty sources of power.

Are they going to take themselves off the national grid?

That way they can limit their failure to their state.

Always putting the cart in front of the horse knowing full well that horses don't push. It's just another scheme to cripple our industry and harm our economy long term.

Jerry Brown deserves prison for the immense harm he's done to this state.

“They can burn dung for heat like any other third world (turd world?) country.”

The only good side to this is it will never happen, the physics won’t work. Ditto universal healthcare and the High Speed rail.

That is awesome! So let's just cut the power lines going into California. I can't wait to see this. :)

.
CA has lots of dummies, but not enough for this scam to fly.

We all know that solar panels function about 6 hours / day effectively.

Where will the other 18 hours of power come from?
