The NYT reporter is responsible. She penned it, it ballooned, and if it is found out that she was jockeying for position with a hot-to-go fake exclusive, she is fired. She is probably 2 or 3 payments away from bankruptcy, over extended on credit and pressured herself into this act of falsehood. She might have a drinking problem, her marriage might be shutting down, she probably is vain, and greedy, maybe sociopathic. She has been watching Omarosa Manigault, read Woodward, and wants “some of that.”

I’d say it was handed to the NYT by Woodward pretending it was from one of his book “sources” that way the NYT has cover and can at least with a wink say they thought it was done by an admin official when it was handed or sent to them.

This op-ed piece reads like a part of Woodward’s new book. It’s an attempt to do what they did with deep throat. it’s a sad pathetic attempt at old days glory and another ...wait for it...WATERGATE.
I would have said the same thing, but her appearance the other night on Laura Ingraham’s show didn’t go well. She dismissed the story and then immediately just started spinning about all of the good things that have happened in the Trump administration. She didn’t show a speck of anger or even concern about the story that someone (or more than one someone) is literally working inside the administration to thwart the will of the President. I found that disturbing... and suspicious.

President Trump should hold a press conference and state that an anonomous source at the NYT told him that the whole thing was made up by the NYT and that no such “senior WH official” exist. The only way for them to prove otherwise would be to reveal the person, if they do exist.

If the NYT did not make it up , the column is embarrassing and the person is barely literate . If its even true , it is a very low level immature fool who is a nothing in the WH .
For what it’s worth, the NYT op-ed editor, James Dao, has stated that he was in direct contact with the author before the column was published.
Dao said he had to get to a point where he was “100% confident that they were who they are,” a process that he said involved research and background checks.
Whatever we might think of the NYT, surely the paper must assume that the author will ultimately be discovered, and it would be a huge blow to whatever credibility the paper has if it turned out it had been pranked.
I don’t know if the author will turn out to be a household name, but I do believe it is an actual member of the Trump administration.
If there is a mole with fellow moles, why aren’t they backing him up? Wouldn’t this be more effective if more than one person was reassuring the gullible leftists that they had Trump under control?
