We have both fake news and censorship.
Almost every government that uses the big lie propaganda also practices censorship.
Dishonest information can not win in the marketplace of ideas unless all honest and truthful information is silenced.
He meant that as a warning.
But remember what Ray Bradbury said in Fahrenheit 451: Censorship begins with the people, not with the government. If we allow it personally, we will eventually enable government to do it “because it’s the people’s will.”
I know the other side will take Bradbury’s words as an instruction manual rather than a dire warning. We have to fight this with every weapon available while we are still able to.
