I’ve never had apple strudel that I can remember, and we lived in Germany. But I found that their desserts weren’t sweet enough for our palates. Sugar is REALLY expensive there....or it was then.

I used to think Apple Strudel was from Germany, but I was told no. The recipe actually originated from areas near Vienna and Hungary. The Viennese like to dust everything in sight with confectioner sugar. I’m more familiar with that version. Wickedly sweet!
