The move came just one day after Brennan, who has long been critical Trump throughout much of his presidency, ripped Trump on Twitter in response to his tweet calling former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman a “dog.” I like dogs and they are loyal, so I thought "snake" would be more accurate.
Maybe Trump is saving that one for Brennan.

I had a “secret” clearance in the Air Force...the day I was discharged, ended my security clearance.
I don’t get how they can muster out, or get fired, and not lose their security clearance.
An ex-employee, or disgruntled employee, is the worst person in the world to continue to hold a security clearance.

Security 101 dictates that the circle of people who know be kept as small as possible.
