Growing up in a Midwestern town with people of predominantly Swedish ancestry, I heard this joke about the Swedish. There were three Scandinavian families stranded on a deserted island. One family was Danish, one Norwegian, and one Swedish. Now, after 2 months on the island, the Danish family had built a house. The Norwegian family, they built a boat. The Swedish family hadn’t done anything at all because they were still waiting to be introduced. So, I’m not surprised the Swedes, with their reserved ways, have not come out of their shell to stand up to these animals.
