Perhaps the wall plans should be modified to include an electric fence at the top. This way invaders could fall on the correct side where they belong, sparing U.S. taxpayers the expense of their medical care.
A big rounded barrier (barrel top) that provides no grip, and has a protruding overhang as an obstacle, prevents any free climber from getting over to the American side.
That passive design feature tested out good on the prototypes, but this last year's appropriation restricted using any new designs.
I hope that from this year on, new construction will have this anti-climb feature. It is not only more effective barrier, it is a safety feature, that can keep people off the dangerous heights.
