Lets face it, the American intelligence community is horribly inept.
Call me a cynic, but I don’t think they’re inept; I think they are corrupt. (Obviously, there are good guys out there, but not at the top.)
Ineptness is a subject for ridicule, corruption is not. I think advertising the fact that Brennen and crew were inept, inferior, inadequate makes them far less appealing to future employers. People can get away with being corrupt, its far more difficult for laughingstocks.
