Day five of Meechaiel Criner's capital murder trial started with testimony from a forensic scientist who analyzed the hairs and fibers taken as evidence in the case. Criner, 20, is accused of killing University of Texas student Haruka Weiser in the spring of 2016... Prior to the trial starting, Judge David Wahlberg decided to throw out major DNA evidence in this trial because of procedural errors in analyzing it at the Department of Public Safety Lab. Instead, most of the evidence the court has heard for the case against Criner has been circumstantial, trying to tie Criner to Weiser's murder and to the scene.

It's disgusting so much evidence has been thrown out. IIRC, it was due to a long running sloppiness at the lab.

Criner admitted to murdering her as she walked across campus to her morning classes but his lawyers are hushing the confession. She was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time and an evil monster killed her.

Boo hoo, he was the darling of the leftists in Austin who put him up for poster boy for coming from an abusive home but making good. Good? He grew up in foster care and eventually placed in some halfway house so was getting training to live on his own and how to get a job. But, but he was bullied in foster care!!!

He was also caught on video trying to break into vehicles and following her. The cops later found a fire nearby the murder scene that contained Haruka's belongings.

“He was also caught on video trying to break into vehicles...”

Obviously, just trying to find some textbooks so he could study. He was a good boy, he was going to community college next year!
