It does sound like he is prepared to make stuff up to please Mueller. Maybe that involves minimal jail time or just a fine, as part of a deal.

I haven't studied law and have never needed a lawyer. Are clients supposed to assume that anything they tell their attorney in confidence can be revealed to a prosecutor if that turns out to be in the attorney's interest?
