Exactly. And keep in mind that when Orwell wrote "1984," it was explicitly the English bureaucracy he was modeling it on, not necessarily the Nazis or the Commies.
The Anglosphere thinks quite highly of itself, but in so many ways it is a cornucopia of perversity.
