I plan my days so that I can get gas in the middle of the day. Usually at a Costco Station where there are twenty cars. And I always take the keys with me when I’m at the pump. Live in NorCal.
I leave my car running when I go into the store...but I live in the sticks...and have an old car.
Prudent. I never leave the keys in the ignition, even when pumping gas.
Moved to NE OK...in the country. Became friends with a cowboy...We were going to check on something...in a pasture...in my truck.
We were in the middle of a pasture...in the middle of nowhere. I stopped the truck...cuz we could not drive further...and we got out..and I locked the truck. My friend looks at me..and say's why did you do that?????
I laughed...and laughed.
That was my old neighborhood back before the school district decided they needed to bus black kids to white schools and white kids to black schools back in the early 70s which caused the White Flight. Today, you do NOT want to go to a gas station after dark there. Well, not in broad daylight if you’re a cracker.
