In a case of historical symmetry Americans who know The Times and its ilk won’t tell the truth will mirror Soviet citizens who knew that Pravda wouldn’t tell the truth, and listened to VOA, RT is looking a LOT more credible than our own sour sources.

Dammit.

Yes, but even when people know that they (the NYT and it’s ilk) lie, they (the NYT and it’s ilk) still can set the agenda by what news they choose to promote or ignore. I wouldn’t know half, not even that, of the skullduggery occurring in this country if I didn’t read FR and the like, and as much as I love FR, I can’t claim that it’s an influential or broad outlet.
