Wasn’t ther a Cal6 proposal at one point?
Why is the capital of Northern California San Francisco when Sacramento, the existing capital, would be in that state?
I don’t remember what the six-part division was, or when it was. I only know I disected the county-by-county division the Cal-3 proposal is asking for, and I did not see it, in my view, as necessarily in favor of Conservatives. To me, not enough of Liberal coastal California was left out of the new “California” and put into “Northern California”. They also put too much that is north of the southern California mountain ranges into “Southern California” instead of leaving all that is north of those mountain ramges in “California”. If they had only had those two major diferences, I think both “Northern California” and “Southern California” would have had a bit more of a Conservative demographic; if not majorities. The current Cal-3 proposal splits off too many Liberals among the three parts, likely helping them to retain majorities there.
Also, the Cal-3 proposal ballot measure is not a measure putting choices of different break ups on the table. It only puts one thing before the state legislature - just the Cal-3 proposal. Frankly I do not think it will pass. Disgruntled is one thing, feeling like they know what Cal-3 will mean is another. I think most people are unsure and therefor insecure about it.
