This is probably the only sane thing that California has done in decades. I support the idea of the entire country adopting Daylight Saving time all year and adopting it as the National Standard time.

What’s wrong with standard time? It’s at least based (at least on the meridian the zone is based on) where the sun actually is in the sky?

Nobody really “adopts Daylight Saving Time” year round. What California would basically be doing here is putting itself one time zone further west (Alaska Standard Time), and eliminating DST entirely.
