Does anyone remember when only one language was spoken in schools and young Americans got great educations (even things like Civics)? Also immigrant (legal) quickly learned how to speak English?

I am getting ready in S Texas for a stepped up invasion that is getting worse by the day with all this talk of amnesty. I am roughly 4 hours from the border and we had 7 bail outs in our county this WEEK.
