Grim reality but frankly ANY meat butchering is pretty gruesome.

One thing I really respect about Gordon Ramsey is he raised animals for food with his children. The kids named them, fed them and then went to the butchery (or sometimes the butcher came to the Ramsey farm).
The point Gordon wanted to make to his kids is that meat does not magically appear on your shelves. It is raised and these were living animals at one time. Every morsel should be respected.
City folk should do the same.
