PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — U.S. Marshals are searching for a Central Pennsylvania man accused of threatening President Trump and other officials.

WNEP reports that Marshals are looking for 26-year-old Shawn Christy of McAdoo, Pennsylvania.

Authorities say he should be considered armed and dangerous.

"WNEP also reports that this isn’t the first time Christy has been in trouble for making threats.

He and his father were sentenced to probation in 2012 for making hundreds of threatening phone calls to former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and her attorney."

Two Sentenced For Harrassment of Palin Lawyer

A father and son from Schuylkill County have been sentenced for harassing the lawyer representing former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

Craig Christy, 48, and Shawn Christy, 20, of McAdoo were sentenced to probation in December for harassing the former Alaska governor.

In January, the two admitted making hundreds of threatening phone calls to the law firm that represents Palin.

On Friday, a judge sentenced both men to five years probation. Their use of the internet is also restricted.

In addition, Shawn Christy must serve 180 days in a residential treatment center.

McAdoo man charged with harrassment

A McAdoo man sentenced to federal probation after former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin filed a restraining order against him was charged with harassment by communication Monday.

Shawn R. Christy, 23, was charged by state police and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing before District Judge James Dixon, Hazle Township, on Aug. 5, according to a criminal docket.

Christy’s father, Craig, said the charge involves a teacher at the McCann School of Business, where his son was a student.

A message left at the school was not returned Monday afternoon.

The elder Christy said his son was taken into custody Monday morning after they finished working a shift together at a distribution center.

On Monday afternoon, the younger Christy was in Columbia County Prison.

Last year, Christy’s probation was transferred to Pennsylvania from Alaska, where he served time in a prison for a parole violation.

After being accused of harassing Palin and her lawyers, he pleaded guilty to harassing her attorneys by telephone and was sentenced to five years probation in 2012. In 2013, he was sentenced to two years in federal prison for a probation violation after he left a halfway house before completing his sentence.

Palin took out a restraining order against Christy in 2010, claiming he had been threatening her since the previous year. The order prevented Christy from coming within a mile of Palin, a friend of Palin’s and their families.
