Why is the FBI top heavy with Leftists (Dan Bongino Opinion)
The Dan Bongino Show ^ | 6/19/2018 | Dan Bongino

Posted on 06/20/2018 5:32:43 AM PDT by rlmorel

On Dan Bongino's podcast yesterday (6/19/2018) he discussed a subject that I have been pondering for some time: Why does the FBI seem to be so top heavy with Leftists?

Mueller is a Leftist. Comey, the #1, is a Leftist. McCabe, the #2 is a Leftist. (Priestap I don't know about.) Strzok (Lead agent in both the Hillary Email Scandal and the Russian Collaboration Investigation!!!!) is a Leftist. And so on. I included Mueller for obvious reasons, though not in the FBI when all this went down.

That is a high powered cabal of Leftists...why are there so many? I had always thought that any law enforcement or military arm found in America would be more conservative than leftist, but this is clearly a faulty assumption on my part, at least as it relates to the FBI.

Dan Bongino discusses this in his podcast yesterday, and I found it an interesting analysis. His opinion carried weight with me due to his past experience as a beat cop in the NYPD (in Brooklyn, IIRC) and as an investigator and agent in the Secret Service where he had to interact with everyone from foreign security/police entities (running the Secret Service advance team for Bush and Obama travels) to DHS, all the way down to local police departments. His interaction is broad, so I was interested to hear his take.

He said, in essence (I have to paraphrase, I have no transcript) that he guessed the Secret Service was roughly 90% conservative leaning, and his experience with city police was that he found them to be conservative by large margins, even in precincts with large minority police populations. In his view, police on the street see first hand the havoc and destruction caused by Leftist policies, so they tend to be more conservative.

By contrast, he guessed (and was careful to stress that it was only an unscientific rough estimate in all cases) that the FBI, from his personal interactions with agents at all levels, was around 60% conservative leaning.

I found this to be an interesting observation.

His rationale was that cops and military tend to be more black and white about situations and issues, rather than seeing them as a nuanced spectrum of grays. That makes sense to me, since if I were a cop or military, it seems you would be in situations where a rapid analysis and action is not only necessary, but critical for survival and success. Since the Secret Service generally recruits people in a general role sense (not usually specialists who fill a single or limited role, but someone who could fulfill a variety of roles as needed by a mission or task) the Secret Service looks to applicants from the police and military ranks. As such, they tend to be very conservative.

In contrast, he said the FBI recruits people in a very different way. The FBI is involved with a lot of white collar and technical crime, and so they recruit their agents from a different pool...they actively recruit lawyers and accountants, because those are the type of people needed for their investigations. They have to be comfortable in those waters...corporate environments, computer systems, account ledgers, and such.

UNaccountable executive branch bureaucracy. Socialist scum floats on the top of any swamp. Contagious infestation. Unaccountable lawbreaking criminals coalesce around each other and run herd over their underlings. Witness history. Witness events of the day. Witness collectives.

I was an Army retiree and FBI employee when I was detailed to the White House as a counterterrorism advisor on Sept. 12th, 2001. At the time, I was of the opinion that no federal agency was better at protecting itself than the CIA (I had worked with the Agency overseas on multiple occasions). By the time I left and went to back to the real world over a year later, I knew that I was badly mistaken.

For the first several months of my detail, we were treated to at least one or two accounts of FBI screw-ups - BIG ones - almost every week and very, very few of those screw-ups ever became public. Those that were exposed seemed to disappear very quickly, the Bureau continued to “F**k up by the numbers” and continued to spend/waste hundreds of millions of dollars polishing their reputation and supposedly enhancing their capabilities.

Suffice it to say that, by the time I left the White House, I wasn’t on the FBI’s Christmas card list and I knew, beyond a shadow of the doubt that NO agency of the Federal government was better at protecting itself than the FBI. Oh, and I was transferred to the Justice Dep’t.

If you think this is bad, recall what Obama did to our military. Obama FIRED (forced retired) any and every officer over the rank of Major, who gave any hint of being conservative.

And this likely happened in the FBI as well. The Left wants immunity from criminal investigation. How better to accomplish this than to fill the FBI and DOJ with ideological allies, who will ignore crimes by leftists (as the FBI and DOJ demonstrably did with Hillary).

When you have a leftist as a manager, he will use political ideology as his major hiring/promotion criterion. Over time, this drags the organization Leftwards.

15 years ago, when my kids were young, I was on the Board of Elders for the Presbyterian church that I belonged to at the time. The meetings were on Sunday nights. When an issue came up that had political implications (e.g,, let’s only serve “Fair Trade” coffee during the social time after church, the liberals were willing to debate the issue until 9, 9:30, or 10pm, however long it took. Myself and the other more conservative members would look at our watches and know we had to get home to help our spouses get the kids into bed. The liberals were either childless or thought that the correct brand of coffee was more important than parenting. More often than not, the liberal viewpoint would prevail.

At one point, I worked at a company that was into "management by consensus". This quickly turned into "dictatorship of the most obstinate".

You're right. The weakness of most conservatives is that we have lives outside of the organization.

I think it’s like any other LE agency. Conservative rank and file, liberal leadership.

"...Stupidest question of the day...

Perhaps to you, GoldenPup. Most people don't enjoy asking what is a generally valid question and having it called the "stupidest question of the day" but I will take it at face value that you didn't mean it that way, but intended to convey "It's obvious".

"...Senator Joe McCarthy was 100% right but even the republicans vilified him all the way up to Eisenhower...

Yes. And I was willing to look with a neutral-to-positive eye at Eisenhower as a president until I found out how he treated McCarthy.

And I had a good deal of respect for Truman until I found out about his treatment of McCarthy and what Truman did with Harry Dexter White. He protected him, a known soviet agent (as the FBI under Hoover well knew from the Elizabeth Bentley revelations, and communicated DIRECTLY and UNEQUIVOCALLY to Truman) and vilified McCarthy.

And Truman did it all to proect the Democrat party from scandal at the cost of our national security.

As others have said, it is possible the vetting process is NOT meant to weed “those” people out, but instead weeds out candidates that we would regard positively.

I know. This type of thing was happening ALL over the country, including the firing of 93 US Attorneys in one day.

Now to be fair, I would fully expect this with an incoming administration so they could appoint their own people who could be counted on to advance their OWN agenda.

What nearly made me spit with anger was the double standard, when Bush fired seven US Attorneys. SEVEN. And the media opened the floodgates of criticism, and he REFUSED to defend himself.

That was one of the biggest issues I had with Bush, was that he kept people in place who everyone KNEW would only stab him in the back. That perpetual “kick me” sign really pissed me off.

I had always thought that as well, but outside of FBI and Secret Service. But it is pretty clear I was mistaken in the case of the FBI.

I have always avoided lumping government employees in that way, as the slander “couldn’t make it on the outside” has been used frequently and with vehemence against members of the military over our history, but I have had to re-think that as well.

The top brass in ALL government agencies are leftists. They are appointed positions. Just like the vast majority of Chiefs of Police are leftists and dont represent their rank and file. The commies get appointed by politicians.

From all the warbling done by democrats in yesterday’s hearing, I forget who it was but one of those measly, pukey democrats listed all the pertinent names involved in the FBI and DOJ as being Republicans. The question was asked about each one to the IG and he kept answering, “I DON’T KNOW” but that didn’t stop the question.. It would take an anvil dropping on those heads to shut up their nonsense..

They're doing exactly that and as we've seen, the plan is well underway.

28 Communist Goals

The following goals of the Communist Party, USA were entered into the Congressional Record on January 10, 1963:

1. U.S. acceptance of peaceful co-existence with communism.

2. U.S. promises to surrender rather than engage in atomic war.

3. U.S. acceptance of the premise that total disarmament would be a sign of moral strength.

4. "Free trade" with communist nations.

5. Long-term "loans" to Russia and communist satellites.

6. Foreign aid to communist nations.

7. United Nations recognition of Red China.

8. UN representation for each of the Soviet satellites.

9. Acceptnce of the UN as mankind's "only hope."

10. The use of court decisions to undermine the constitutional rights of Americans.

11. Using the public schools to teach socialist and communist propaganda, and to "dumb down" students.

12. Communist control of campus newspapers.

13. Use of student riots to trigger public protests against U.S. policies.

14. Infiltration of the press.

15. Control of mass media.

16. The degradation of American culture and art.

17. Controlling art critics and museum directors to promote ugly, repulsive, and meaningless art forms.

18. Repeal of all laws banning obsenity.

19. Promotion of pornography and obscenity in the mass media.

20 Establishing homosexuality as normal and natural.

21. Infiltrate churches to replace revealed religion with the “Social Gospel" and deny the truths of scripture.

22. Banish all prayer from public schools.

23. Discredit the Constitution as old fashioned and a hindrance to international cooperation.

24. Discredit the founding fathers as slave-owning aristocrats who despised the common man.

25. Promote all movements aiming to centralize government control over cultural and social agencies.

26. Transfer arrest powers from the police to social agencies and reduce all behavioral problems to matters only a psychiatrist can handle; for example, arresting and imprisoning parents who use corporal punishment or home-school their children.

27. Infiltrate the psychiatric profession and use it to promote "mental health" laws to oppress those who oppose social disintegration caused by the Communist program.

28. Undermine the institution of the family, encourage promiscuity, and easy divorce.
