Senate Democrats reject GOP legislative fix to stop family separations

Senate Democrats indicated Tuesday they may not agree to narrow legislation that would end the separation of children from parents who cross into the country illegally at the southern border.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., refused to say if he and other Democrats would support a bill that Republicans are working on, and when pressed, said several times that President Trump should act on his own to stop these family separations from happening.

"Let's hope we never get to that. Let's hope the president does the right thing and solves the problem, which he can do," Schumer said. "That's the simple, easiest and most likely way this will happen."

The whole reason for not wanting a congressional fix is a political desire to force President Trump to back off law and order enforcement so that they can claim that he does not really mean what he says. You know, “he’s mean, cold, racist, etc.” They need him to capitulate to the left’s meme.

“The Dems think family separations = VOTES”

That may be true, but what they really want is an issue to hammer in the media until the November election. Republican suggestions or actions are unwelcome.

"President Trump should act on his own to stop these family separations from happening. "

OK. Arrest the kids, too, and throw them in the slammer along with their parents. You can do it, Trump. And then we'll get outraged at that, too.

Simple solution: transport them into Mexico and drop them off there. Together.

Too many idiots here talk the same way - when the Congress (both Dems and RINOs) wants Trump to handle their jobs it is so they can all gang up to blame him and claim zero responsibility themselves......
