In the Sunshine State, Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson, is banking on incumbency and gun control to get him over the top. Hes been lucky throughout his Senate career in facing opponents who havent been the best, especially during his 2000 re-election campaign. This year is differentand he knew it. Last year, Politico reported that Nelson met with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and other Democrats ahead what will be a true contest. Hell be fighting for his political life and he needs money. Republican Gov. Rick Scott, who is term-limited, has tossed his hat into the ring. Despite his recent betrayal of Second Amendment rights by signing an appalling law that increased the age of gun purchases to 21, hes a solid candidate. Independently wealthy, he can fund his own race. Hes also proving himself to be an adept campaigner, hitting Hispanic outreach hard, which is making Democratic activists very nervous. Another startling sign: only 49 percent know who the hell Nelson is in the state. Not a good sign for a three-term incumbent

Thsts exactly how most of us feel. I really wish Florida had a better choice than Scott but Nelson had to go - so many of my friends will hold their noses and vote for Scott.
There are horse turds and there are human turds. Scott is a horse turd. Nelson is a human turd.
MUCH rather touch a horse turd with my bare hand than a human turd - and I’d rather vote for one, too. But I’m in Arizona, and we traditionally have nothing but human turds on the ballot.
You can still make him eat it.
I think he should face the question at every stop he makes. What an idiot - likely a deep state stooge.
Scott’s better than Nelson, but not by much. You cave on 2A, what’s left that sacred?
We’ll get it done. This clown spoke at my daughter’s graduation 10+ years ago. He made it a political speech when brought up Social Security to HS Seniors. It was like “What is he babbling about?” I guess he heard he was to talk with Seniors and thought it was old people. He’s lived off the taxpayers for far too long. Will be glad to see him gone.
I think John Kerry robbed Bill Nelson potatoes right out of his face.
Montana is an interesting state, politically. It's reflexively a pretty conservative state, but it's also pretty conflicted. Demographically, it's a retirement state, having the 6th highest percentage of retirees of all the states. It's also among the states that are most dependent on Federal funds (39% of the State budget are federal dollars) and has a lot of agricultural business. Marijuana use is rampant in the western half of the state, too.
