If they stuck to the 5 Ws and the H, people wouldn’t need to grapple with anything.

Remove opinions from news, and we’re fine.

Opinions are all that matter today in what passes for journalism. Ask any "journalism" student why he/she picked that line of endeavor and the answer will invariably be, "Because I want to make a difference."

I started working for a company while a long ago friend who had worked there for a while was out on leave. He had crashed his air plane and was out for several months with serious injuries. When he returned, I pointed out to him a news paper clipping dealing with his crash. I said something like: "Did you see this?

After reading the story, he turned to me and said: "You know, I crashed my airplane, too". That's right, HE DID NOT RECOGNIZE THAT THE NEWS STORY WAS ABOUT HIS OWN PLANE CRASH. If a news paper can't even get a plane crash story right, how can they ever get political stories right?
