“...back in the early ‘70s both Olympia and Coors beers were light as air...”

My recollection, too. At that time, Coors was only available in geographically-limited areas. I was on wheat harvest in the summer of 1973 and found out there was no Coors beer once we moved north of Kansas with the ripening wheat. Experimentation led me to choose Olympia as an acceptable substitute and I decided Hamm’s was also OK. I sure was glad when harvest was over and I returned to Oklahoma.

My wife and I were shopping at that same Walmart just 2 hours before the event. We live a mile away. So glad that a responsible citizen was right there and could bring this to resolution.

I went to the University of Missouri in Columbia ‘69 to ‘73. At the time, Coors was only sold as far east as the Kansas / Missouri state line. Lots of friends thought it was the greatest thing ever to score some Coors, but never saw the point. I thought it was bland compared to Busch and Budweiser from St. Louis...and still do.
