Here's a novel idea for Belgium: How about new build F-16s? They're still available, with AESA radar, other modern avionics, and modern weapons they're still viable for the next 20+ years, you already have the training and infrastructure to maintain the airframe and power plant, and you would still be fully NATO compatible.
You will save millions in training and conversion costs vs. going to any other airframe type.
