This First Lady problem goes back at least as far as Mamie Eisenhauer. What we need is a bachelor populist president.
What was so bad about her? Or for that matter, Lady Bird Johnson, who really was a long suffering wife of a notorious philanderer? Pat Nixon was also a decent lady, as far as I recall.
