Dem rep: Congress could reach agreement on immigration if White House wasn't involved

Rep. Cedric Richmond (D-La.) suggested Sunday that Congress could more easily reach an agreement on immigration legislation if President Trump did not get involved on the issue.

Richmond said on CBS's "Face the Nation" that he believes Congress should vote on immigration bills ahead of November's midterm elections to show voters where each lawmaker stands on the issue.

But, he said, passing legislation "gets complicated" with Trump's involvement.

"I mean, the head of their party who occupies the White House said very early on, 'If you give me border security, if you give me a wall, then I'm willing to create a pathway to citizenship for DACAs. If you all get it passed I'll sign it,'" Richmond said, referencing remarks Trump made during a January meeting with bipartisan lawmakers.

While Trump initially said he was willing to "take the heat" and sign a bipartisan immigration bill, he later backed off his pledge, instead issuing a list of four pillars that he would require in any piece of legislation.

Richmond said Sunday that the president's additional criteria has made it difficult to come to consensus.

"(Trump's) role in Congress gets complicated a little bit because you have to introduce the president," Richmond said. "If we didn't have a White House involved, I think there are a bunch of issues we could have — we could come together on."

Democrat congressman: We (congress) could more easily reach an agreement if the president wasn't involved.

Democrat president (Obama): I could more easily govern the nation and make deals with other countries, if congress wasn't involved.

Yeah, THAT’S the problem, the Demons and the Retards reaching agreements all these years.

Donald Trump: I would have had the Wall finished already if it weren’t for losers like McCuckold and Paul RINO.

This (one of many) idiot just doesn’t
get it. It’s not what Trump wants,
it’s what WE the people want.
Trump is our messenger.

And we could solve it more satisfactorily, and even much quicker, if Congress weren’t involved.

So just to intepret, if this thing called the Constitution did not exist, leftists would force mass immigration, from horrible third world countries, down the throats of the American people with the goal to displace white people. Sort of like what the European Union is doing to the people of Europe.
