Ever notice how so-called "gun control" proposals are not pushed during "normal" times? The only time you see the leftists push their big government control, surrender your liberties and rights gun control initiatives is after some kind of shooting incident.
The formula is disgustingly predictable: wait for some undisciplined, maladjusted, current or former psycho-active drug taking whack-job to wander into a "gun free" zone and kill wholesale. Then when the MSM has highlighted the incident in the most emotion evoking ways possible for a few days (collapsing to just a few hours recently) out come the anti-liberty leftists. "Oh, if only we had 'common sense' gun control..." and other so obviously predictable statements we could quite literally print them now in anticipation of the next cycle.
That's the leftists typical manipulation. They wait until (even help drive) emotions are running high, then make their pitch, making it sound so reasonable, how could anyone be against this? How dare you?! Do you hate kids!? etc. etc. But you don't see these kinds of things pushed, well, now when people are feeling pretty good about jobs, income, peace with North Korea, World Cup, etc. etc. Nope, been far too much good news lately. Can't have people considering surrendering their liberties rationally - because no-one would.

This Country was founded upon freedom and liberty, and they have the freedom to be a**-hats and advocate for their terrible ideas.
