A very close friend of mine works for the state government in a fraud department. He is very conservative.
He says you never reveal your political views unless you are a liberal. They can say or do anything. If they know you are a conservative you will not be promoted past floor sweeper.

It’s worse than you know. ELF (Earth Liberation Front) tried to bomb a forestry center at a local university. Our sheriff handed over the bomb threat to the local FBI, and the agent insisted that the bombing was the work of the local right wing militia.
