Ron Howard has one question on his mind, and it has nothing to with his latest film, “Solo: A Star Wars Story.”

“Honest question to #MAGA minders,” the 64-year-old tweeted Thursday. “When was America at its greatest? Can you tell me an era that reflects the ‘Again’ that you hope to return to?”

The Oscar-winning filmmaker and former “Happy Days” actor quickly started a conversation with users who had different opinions of President Trump’s famous slogan.

1959, when Eisenhower was President, Nixon was President in waiting, Political assassinations in America were practically nonexistent, no Vietnam, the Dollar was practically gold, and Silver was still how money came. I was too little to notice, but that sounds like heaven for this white boy. Now for the colored people, it might be a bit different. Ask some black men who came through WW II that question on the West Coast and I will bet ‘59 would suit them just fine.

Women in the workplace, forced busing, and the Communist inspired Civil Rights movement ruined this country. Not that desegregation didn’t need to happen in law, but to force low intelligence people into schools that were performing quite nicely, took the entire country down a notch.

Now instead of Special education, we have mainstreaming of non-English speaking people, moron level students, and quite frankly, crippled people slowing down the intelligent students.

My neighbor was deaf and could not see very well either. He was given to outbursts of grunting, yelling etc. How was he treated? He was sent a bus just for him to take him to school, and bring him home. He was jammed into Elementary classes and disrupted every other students experience. THAT is progress?

What he’s really asking is “When was America Perfect?”

Agreed. And for all of people's complaints about the times we're living in (coming from the left and right) -- I still believe our country's been through way worse...and the world for that matter. Particularly the Western world.

I for one, am glad not to be alive during our Civil War nor during Nazi/Soviet times at their peaks.

Horrific times still define other parts of the world, but hopefully places like North Korea will be free in my lifetime...

Jeffersonian America: A Second Revolution 1801 - 1825

Republicans (not “Democratic Republicans” which was a revisionist history term) Jefferson, Madison, and Monroe - all 2 term Presidents.

The 1950s. Strongest economy in the world, everyone was full of hope, and we had unrivaled military and scientific power.

The 1964 act is now in conflict with Christian principles. They are using it to force people to subjugate their Christianity to the latest immoral fads of the world.

The abuse of that act predicted by Barry Goldwater has now come to pass.

I disagree that it was created to combat poverty. I say it was created to grab about 13 million newly minted voters (see 24th amendment) and turn them into reliable Democrat voting robots.

Bingo. Thus I pointed out earlier how they will scream “racism!” for practically any date you name. Because if you oppose their big government socialism why that must mean you’re really a hateful white guy who is responding to President Trump’s “wolf whistle” and you aren’t really responding to his economic message. No. You long for the days when black people were slaves and women were chained to the kitchen sink and gay people were firmly in the closet you evil hater you!

This is all the Left knows how to do. They lost the argument about economics a generation ago when the socialist countries collapsed. So now its all identity politics and trying to slime anybody who disagrees with them rather than discussing the merits of anything.
