A man accused of stealing handguns apparently shot himself after authorities chased the U-Haul truck he was driving across the Inland Empire Wednesday afternoon.
The pursuit began in Santa Ana, on the eastbound 22 Freeway near where it meets Interstate 5, according to the California Highway Patrol. It had since wound its way through Orange County and the Riverside area, winding up on the 15 Freeway in San Bernardino County.
While still scaling the pass, around 6 p.m., the pickup’s front left tire apparently blew out and was sending a trail of smoke and shreds of rubber behind the vehicle.
A short time later, the vehicle pulled to the side of the freeway. The driver could be seen with a handgun pointed at his own neck.
Officers at the scene eventually removed his limp body from the driver’s seat and began rendering medical aid. Paramedics soon responded as well and were seen loading him into the back of an ambulance on a stretcher.

Suicide by suicide with cops present. That was a decent guy. The cops can go home without an idiots death hanging on them. Weird only in CA.
At the 15 second mark, you can see the bullet exits the roof. He was sucking on the barrel at about a 60 degree angle. That’s desperation.

KFI 640 radio out there was saying that channel 4 (nbc) refused to even say he killed himself and it was their camera that was focused on him! They knew but withheld the facts. The KFI radio hosts found a video on youtube from a Phoenix station that showed him killing himself.
I think it was under the chin and up through the roof...Regardless, his crime days are over.
Fox was showing the chase live on Facebook for over 20 minutes and then cut it off at the end. Didn’t even let us know what happened. I had to look for the story.

Opps missed the “stealing the handguns part” Even still no reason to take one of the Handguns out for a spin.
