The governor of the United States territory of Guam is praising President Donald Trump for meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un in Singapore to broker the start of a nuclear weapons-free Korean Peninsula.

"We’ve experienced war,” Governor Calvo said. “In 2013 and again last year, we were the target of missile threats. Today, the promise of peace in the region draws closer, and we can breathe easier.”

“This agreement paves the way for peace between the U.S. and North Korea and moves us toward the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula,” Calvo stated. “The Territory of Guam is thankful to our President and his stance on peace through strength policy which elevated peace within the Asia Pacific region — this is something we truly are grateful for.”

i cautiously acclaim the President’s actions, but I am going to hold off on saying anything until North Korea has no nukes. Given the past treachery from the Norks, we need to wait and watch

I think this is going to go much faster than most people think it will. I wouldn’t be surprised to see an official end to the Korean War within maybe 3 months.

Naturally the governor of Guam doesn’t get a blue check mark from Twitter.

I’m a girl, so math is hard for me.
Pondering the size of Guam. 12 x24 miles wide and long, one could probably ballpark it at 288 square miles. Or just look it up on the internet, 210 square miles. What a waste of time and space.

"I wouldn’t be surprised to see an official end to the Korean War within maybe 3 months."

I don't think that happens until the nukes are gone. Then we can declare the end of the Korean war and then we can start the withdrawal of American troops. First, the nukes have to be gone and their facilities to produce nukes has to be verifiably destroyed.

Foreign airlines should be free to stop in Guam on their way to the U.S. mainland. Presently they’re allowed 1 stop. United only flights. Open it up to asian tourists who do not have to turn around and return.

President Trump is too smart to give a time table as Usurper Barry did.

Why aren’t their sponsors being held responsible for the aliens’ welfare, if they are here legally. The alternative is why aren’t there any arrests for aiding and abetting illegal aliens filed against the states?

Cronos..... Trump has just arrived back in DC, but this after completing a round-the-world trip that included Air Force One stops in Quebec,... Crete,... Guam,..... Hawaii...Singapore and back to Joint Base Andrews.

It matters who he's seeing as you know. The man talks and meets with those who are significant to his foreign policies and what he's doing on the International stage. Appears to me he intends to put out a lot fires on the International stage as well as change the geo political old ways of doing things.

It’s stunning what our President is accomplishing on the world stage overall.....China’s pulled back it’s ships....The Arab countries are solidifying against Iran and now starting to rein in Hamas and pressuring Qatar to stop supporting them. North and South Korea are communicating. Russia and China are pressuring Assad in Syria...etc.etc

He’s responsible for these changes and so much more I won’t mention now. But it’s wise to step back and look at the world stage ‘dynamics’ happening now that are all directly related to President Trump. Those with ‘real ‘ power and unafraid to use it are working with Trump.

oh, I wasn't talking about the rest of the good that Trump is doing. There are clear indications that his trade war with China is winning and his performance at the G7 was masterful

i was referring purely and only to the Nork summit. The Nork-kims are untrustworthy so I want to wait until the nukes are actually gone before crowing about it.
