Debra Saunders supported Gray Davis over Bill Simon in 2002. It wasn’t funny. Simon sucked as a candidate and blew a big opportunity. Saunders was right in the primary though. She supported a more moderate secretary of state who had won statewide. Voters went for the ‘conservative flash’ a la Oliver North running for senate. Primary voters(conservatives) were wrong in both states.
