Some handguns don’t have thumb safeties. For example, I carry a Glock, which doesn’t have one. I wouldn’t carry a pistol that had a manual safety. The problem here was holster retention, not a manual safety.

I don't think most holsters can properly retain a firearm WHEN UPSIDE DOWN OR VERTICAL, which is why it fell out when the FBI Special ED Agent attempted a "back handspring" as stated in the article ...
