Years ago, a local street person who dressed and lived as a street person even though he actually has a home sat on a wall outside my office and ate his lunch. He would go to the chinese restraunt at the end of the block and they gave him left over fried rice and stuff un eaten. Not garbage mind you but food from the serving plates.
He un nerved my assistant so much she brought a large butcher knife from home and kept it in her desk drawer.
I knew the restrauntuer well and he thought that was a good use of the perfectly good but uneaten food. He was being charitable in his taiwan way.
