The National Football League has done nothing to recover during the off season from it’s miserable popularity ratings that are now at the lowest ever.
Rocked by the issues of players taking a knee during the playing of the National Anthem, overly long games, and scandalous players, just 35 percent say they have a favorable view of “America’s sport.”

Obviously crappy. That’s why they did this stunt. I suspect that they knew it wouldn’t work long term - but hoped it would fool the fans just long enough to renew their tickets.
I don’t think it even worked that long.
On the bright side, folks are consuming less beer and chips, accomplishing more projects, and not looking ridiculous walking around in NFL gear.
Kapernik will need more bodyguards when these overpaid hoodlums realize they got suck into the wrong side of this.

A couple of thoughts:
That kneeling photo in the article can’t be unseen. It happened. There is no way to undo it.
If the NFL is counting on Democrats to fill their seats and watch their games on TV good luck to them.
Most Democrats I know would rather praise Donald Trump than watch a NFL game.
The only team NOT owned by a particular individual. The fans own them.
Given the panic of management, do you even need to ask??
If a network was smart they’d begin counter-programming NFL games with world rugby matches. Then the fan could see just how much contact has been removed from the NFL game. Heck, the new kickoff rules are a joke.
We shall see how principled the kneelers are when their contracts expire and they are told the pot of gold is less than half full.
Watch NFL management try to undo the damage with disingenuous patriotic messages this year. You can bet they have consultants working feverishly on this.
But the damage is already done. The players and management have already exposed who and what they really are.
