I was in a parts place some time back getting some miscellaneous electric stuff for my Willys.
Somehow, jeep came up. The guy at the counter told me someone is always working jeep electrical systems.
Some things never change.
Jeep and electrical quality never went in the same sentence.

IIronically, JEEP is their biggest profit taker. It also scores lowest in brand reliability in many publications. 1) Consumer Reports is written by homos.
2) Irono-ronically, the Wranglers in all their iterations have a pretty hight resale value, especially the straight six which was a solid, and easy to work on motor.
3) Full disclosure: I still own a couple, but I drive a Toyota truck for daily duty. I'm nostalgic, but no a complete retard.

Mercury was Ford.
Chevy was GM.

Wasn’t DeSoto a Chrysler brand?
To: wally_bert

They should have brought back that rich, Corinthian leather.I saw a program one time about famous automotive advertising campaigns - "See the USA in your Chevrolet", "Ford has a better idea", etc. At one point, they interviewed one of the guys involved in the ad campaign for the Cordoba. He admitted that none of them had any idea what "fine Corinthian leather" was, as opposed to any other kind of leather. They just made it up because it made the car sound more luxurious.

When they didnt up the 300 to L or higher, I knew there was something wrong. Chrysler has gone to "L".

The PT Cruiser was the only car introduced during Mercedes brief interlude with Chrysler. They enforced strict quality control and it was a decent little car. The fit and finish was good as wellslamming a door would break your ear drums. We drove one for 300k without any major issues.

I own the old Jeep Cherokee and still have it. I swear it still has the engine light on and driven it a further 8 years with that light on. Amazing.

my wife was set up with a Jeep Grand Cherokee as a rental while her F150 was in the body shop (a dumbass in Boise hit the driver's side rear door in a parking lot). Nice vehicle. Nicer than the 2008 Mercury Mariner Hybrid we previously owned.

In case y’all didn’t notice, that’s an Imperial. I.e., Chrysler.
Not that DeSoto didn’t have its similar models.
