"....Manhattan’s Assistant City Manager Kiel Magnus said it came as a surprise.

"I think we’re not communist here in Manhattan and we are representing Democracy but that person who owns that billboard has the freedom of speech to do what they want and you know we can’t take it down but we would encourage him to reach out to us, contact us," Magnus said....."

What a laugh. New York's mayor, Wilhelm DeBlasio, voted in with an overwhelming majority of votes in the last election, is a self-proclaimed and unabashed Kommie.

And this city manager's comment that they are representing "democracy", shows him to be woefully out-of-touch with the rest of the country. This country is a constitutional representative republic, not a democracy.

If I wanted to go to a place in this country that was as close to Kommunism as I could find and yet still be in the US, I would go to New York City.

25 years or so ago a local farmer in my hometown hung effigies of the County Commissioners from a billboard on his property.

If that person thinks Manhattan is communist, he hasn’t been to Lawrence.
