This is great. Nancy Pelosi's "crumbs" comment has rightly followed her around since she first uttered it.
After the GOP tax cuts, it was raining bonuses out there. Nancy described those bonuses that were being bragged about at family dinners and being used to pay bills or buy necessities as "the crumbs that they are giving to workers." She (and Democrats in general) has been paying for it ever since.
Which includes last night at a CNN Town Hall, as a small business owner named John Anfinson went after her. Watch:
We are a small business of seven full-time employees that provide fertilizer and seed products to our farm customers. When the tax and jobs bill was passed, I gave my employees a $1,000 bonus, plus a 5 percent pay increase that they appreciated very much. Add to that the reduced withholding from their paychecks and it turned into a noticeable increase in income. This certainly was not crumbs to them. My question is, what can you add to this legislation that would also contribute to the growth of jobs and wages in our country?
This is a powerful commentary, though the media will surely attempt to diminish it. No doubt, as they did with every average person who posed a challenging question to Obama, they are already investigating this man and his business. But his argument is above reproach.
This concept seems impossible to get into the skulls of liberals. It's not merely that they are too partisan to admit that the Republican plan helped average people, but because they are incapable of seeing anything as a benefit if someone else somewhere got more. Ice cream isn't ice cream unless nobody else got more ice cream than you.
Pelosi's crumbs comment rests entirely on that premise. A noticeable increase in income is worse than nothing if the CEO or the company itself saw larger real numbers. (Don't bother to argue "as a percent of income," because they aren't even that subtle. Literally comparing millions for a company worth billions to thousands for a worker worth thousands.) It's actually amazing to watch them.
Take Nancy's answer, for example. She begins by saying, "Only a small percentage of businesses shared their tax advantage with their employees. So let us thank John for that." That's backhanded praise if ever there was any. She's not really thanking him, she's arguing with him. "Most companies didn't do that so you and your point are irrelevant." That's what she's really saying.
But it takes only a moment to get to the crux. "Why should 83 percent of the benefits go to the top 1 percent? We should start with small business," she says. See? Billy got more.
Nancy considers our income itself to be crumbs.
That’s the problem.
Pelosi and the DemocRATS are Crummy.
To a uber-wealthy liberal like Pelosi, it is ‘crumbs’.
Tells you more about her than she expected............
How crazy. Nancy deflects the entire point by saying most businesses don’t do what he did in passing along benefits From the tax bill.
Moist Americans are to stupid to be in charge of the money they earn, best they let wise ‘DemonRats’ spend it for them.
Well, compared to her most of our incomes are crumbs....
To her it is. Our yearly is a good dinner with great wine for her and a dozen friends at a nice restaurant.
Not that she probably pays to start with.
Pelosi has repeated said that “87% of the tax cuts go to the top 1% of income earners”. Others quote it, too. I cannot find where that number comes from and I know for damn sure the MSM isn’t going to call her on it. There has to be some kind of perverse logic out there to even come close to that number. Finally, even if she’s right, the remaining 13% is better than her plan to raise taxes on everyone. Come on CA, dump her, Feinstein, and Waters as fast as you can.
What about the dry Americans?
OOPS! Dry Americans are sober so they do OK!
Nancy wants to take our crumbs away
Her answer was simple bloviation and obfuscation.
Pelosi considers all of us ‘little people’ to be crumbs. That’s what all progressives think.
Thats the problem.
Nancy considers our income to be her's, meaning the Government's. They allow us to have a little bit of their money but in the end it is theirs.
That husband's business has received millions of dollars from the Government via very fishy contracts.
Pelosi’s “problem” is related to the difference in growth rates between her bust and her brain. In that process, it’s clear that her brain development suffered. As a consequence, she has not been able to master the process whereby she “engages” her brain, before she “puts her mouth into gear,” and the resulting spew we see here is the end result! And you have to add in the “negative results” of her multiple facial surgeries and botox injections. One more facelift and she’s going to have to start “shaving.”
Google Paul Pelosi! You will be surprised. Ditto for Richard Blum, Diane Fineswine’s third and hopefully last husband. Their wive’s positions have make them millions, if not billions!
Yes. I have somewhat followed their sordid business dealings and that is why I made that post. They have greatly enriched themselves by using the power and position of their wives.
We also need to delve into Mitch McConnell, as his relatives, and thus himself, are using Elaine L. Chao, his wife, to purchase billion dollars container ships and other things to make billions for themselves.
That triple-chinned scumbag needs to be in jail for his graft and outright anti-American dealings.
