Maybe so, but in this case, it sounds like the police chief will go to the wall to support him.
We don’t know at this point how he was carrying in his car. He could have had the gun unloaded, fully encased, with the ammunition separate from the gun, in which case he’d be perfectly legal.
Or he may have had a carry permit.
I was just responding to the premise that in many states it is legal to carry a loaded handgun in your car without a concealed permit. This is true, but not in OK.
